Pro Kennex, the pioneer of comfort!

As you know, padel is a rapidly expanding sport that’s growing day by day, which is why many brands are eager to launch padel lines to diversify and reach as many people as possible. Several companies that have already made a name for themselves in the sports world are now trying their hand at manufacturing padel rackets to tap into this market.

This is the case with the Singaporean brand Pro Kennex, which started out as a tennis racket brand but is increasingly expanding into all racket sports, including badminton, squash, pickleball, and, of course, Padel. With a fairly comprehensive initial lineup of rackets, Pro Kennex offers models for all types of players, from beginners with affordable options to high-end rackets that will delight even the most experienced players.

What are the key features of Pro Kennex Padel rackets?

Pro Kennex’s key strength is playing comfort, thanks in particular to one feature: the Kinetic System. This technology significantly reduces vibrations with every stroke, thereby minimizing the risk of injury—particularly to the elbow. Several areas of the racket are filled with small beads that absorb impacts and reduce the risk of conditions like tennis elbow. This technology was first used in their tennis rackets before being adapted for Padel, where it has become a true selling point for the brand.

Developed by Pro Kennex itself, this innovation is unique and quite revolutionary in the industry, as many people complain of recurring joint injuries. Other brands on the market are trying their best to create similar technology, but so far, no manufacturer has been able to match Pro Kennex’s technology.

How to Choose Your Pro Kennex Racket?

At Pro Kennex—as with other brands—you need to find the Padel racket that best suits your game based on your style and skill level. Therefore, you should consider certain selection criteria.

Shape: Power, control… or both?

The diamond shape is specifically designed for players looking to maximize their power and aggressiveness on the court. In this design, the racket’s weight is balanced toward the head, thereby increasing the effectiveness of overhead shots such as smashes, bandejas, and viboras. However, this weight distribution—far from your hand—can compromise control and maneuverability, especially during low shots below the waist.

Unlike the diamond shape, the round shape promotes ball control and defensive capabilities. In this case, the weight is distributed toward the handle, which improves maneuverability and ball control. This configuration is particularly useful for reducing errors; however, it may sacrifice some explosiveness and power when it comes to finishing points with force.

Finally, the last option is the teardrop shape. Rackets with this shape offer a balance between control and power, with the weight centered in the middle of the head. They’re perfect for players looking to maximize their versatility on the court. However, it’s important to note that they don’t have any specific strengths in the game!

The faces: stiffness or flexibility?

The faces of padel rackets play a crucial role in their performance, as they determine their stiffness.

Fiberglass, known for its flexibility, is often preferred for its forgiveness, making it a popular choice among beginners due to its ease of use. It promotes better ball control, thereby limiting the frustrating errors typical of beginners. However, it’s worth noting its limitations in terms of power and flexibility, which can become restrictive as your skill level improves.

Conversely, carbon faces are stiffer and are generally reserved for intermediate or advanced players, requiring some experience playing Padel to master. Carbon density varies by model, ranging from 3k (less dense, more forgiving) to 18k (very dense, offering great power).

The Foam: Soft or Hard?

The foam, sandwiched between the two faces of the racket, plays a key role in how the ball feels and behaves upon impact and as it leaves the racket. Its flexibility varies by model.

The different types of foam follow the same logic as the faces: the denser and harder the foam, the more responsive the racket will be and the better the ball rebound. On the other hand, softer foam offers greater comfort and control during shots. However, it’s important to note the risk of injury associated with using hard foam with rigid faces.
