Until 2016, she combined padel with biochemistry studies at the University of Extremadura. She played with a Siux racket alongside Esther Lasheras, who now plays on the Spanish veteran circuit.

In 2018, she made a name for herself on the circuit playing alongside Valeria Pavón. The following year, with Ana Catarina Nogueira, she claimed her first tournament title by winning the 2019 Madrid Master. That same season, she reached three finals and started making a name for herself in professional padel.

In 2020, Paula Josemaría began the season with a new partner: Marta Marrero. Despite a title in Marbella and two finals, the partnership did not last and the players announced their split before the end of the season. Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez: the promise of a bright future

The breakthrough in 2022

The year 2022 was the breakthrough year for Paula and Ari. They became almost unbeatable, reaching 18 finals out of 21 tournaments. However, they often fell short against the Triay/Salazar pairing, losing 10 of their 14 encounters.
