Discovering Slazenger Padel

It is with great pleasure that the Esprit Padel Shop team presents its new brand available on the site… Slazenger!

This British brand founded in 1881 was originally specialised in tennis. Following the rise of padel, Slazenger developed a dedicated padel range.

Slazenger Padel began in 2020; the first Slazenger padel rackets collection takes its name from one of the most iconic tennis rackets ever made, Slazenger Challenge No.1.

Slazenger was one of the largest tennis racket manufacturers in the era of wooden rackets. This iconic brand still has a foothold in the tennis world thanks to its partnership with Wimbledon as the official ball supplier of the Grand Slam.

Although this brand is just entering the padel market, it remains very interesting and one to watch closely...

Let's get right to the heart of the matter, with the padel rackets of course!

Slazenger Challenge and Series padel rackets

Slazenger Challenge No. 1

 

The first Slazenger padel racket is named after one of the most iconic tennis rackets ever made, the Slazenger Challenge No.1.

The Challenge No. 1 is a top-of-the-range racket intended for advanced players.

This unique racket is made with hard Eva core… a rigid core. This rigidity provides it with the explosiveness needed for all players seeking powerful shots. This core, once mastered, can become an unstoppable ultimate weapon for experienced players.   

However, it is not just the core that makes the Challenge No. 1 a unique racket. Its frame is made of 12k carbon. This means that over 12,000 carbon micro-filaments have been woven together to form a single thread. This cutting-edge technique is often used in aeronautics and extreme sports. Carbon gives the racket excellent strength. In addition to the durability of carbon, this technique provides the ball with excellent rebound for ideal control.

On the frame, embossed panther-shaped grooves. In addition to adding playing comfort, these grooves promote spin creation. 

With a teardrop shape and an optimised weight of 360/375 grams, this padel racket has been engineered down to the millimetre to deliver an excellent compromise between control and power. A racket not suitable for everyone, but once mastered, it becomes an unstoppable weapon. 

Slazenger Challenge No. 2

  

Still named after Slazenger's first tennis racket collection, the Challenge No. 2.

Quite similar to the Challenge No. 1, this round shape racket has an optimised weight of 360/375 grams. Featuring the same technologies as the Challenge No. 1, it nonetheless has its own identity. 

First of all, its round shape optimizes it for control. This shape allows for an enlarged sweet spot. This racket is therefore suitable for experienced players as well as beginners who want good control.    

In terms of technology, it features a 12K carbon frame. This is ideal for optimising control. The panther grooves are also present, providing extra comfort and enhancing spin. 

Finally, the hard eva core of the Challenge No. 2 gives the racket rigidity and great control, without compromising on power.

Supplied with its stylish cover, this Slazenger racket will win over control lovers and players looking for less rigidity than the Challenge No. 1

Slazenger Challenge No. 3

  

Slazenger keeps up the momentum with a round racket: the Challenge No. 3

Its control is first demonstrated by its 360-gram weight. This manoeuvrable racket features hard eva foam. This foam is rigid, but paired with the 6K carbon frame, its stiffness is reduced. The 6k carbon provides additional flexibility while maintaining power and control. More flexible than 12k carbon, this technique delivers very pleasant and less rigid rebound sensations.

However, this in no way affects the power of this racket, which is more forgiving than the Challenge No. 1, for example.

For control, the frame has an embossed finish. This provides extra comfort and promotes spin creation.

This racket is particularly recommended for players looking to really feel the ball. In addition, the racket is much less rigid than its counterparts, making it less tiring. Highly recommended for players suffering from arm and elbow pain after a match.

Slazenger Challenge No. 4

And to round off the Challenge padel rackets series in style, here is No. 4. 

Slazenger offers here the most flexible and manoeuvrable racket in this range. First of all, its weight is optimised at 350g, making this racket the lightest in this range. Regarding the core, the Challenge No. 4 is equipped with hard eva… so it is rigid. However, this flexibility is mainly reflected in its frame made of 3k carbon, which is less dense than the others. This frame density delivers an excellent rebound feel. 

Its balance is medium; coupled with its round shape, this Slazenger racket has an extended sweet spot. 

However, the Challenge is not Slazenger's only racket range. You also have the Series range with its two flagship models.

 

Slazenger Series Epic

With its black-on-black design, the Series Epic racket will win you over with its look, but also thanks to the technologies built into the racket.

You will naturally find the embossed pattern on the frame featuring the Slazenger logo. The fact that the frame is rough makes control and spin creation easier...

As for the frame, it is made of 12k carbon. A solid frame that gives good punch to the ball. This technique makes the racket frame rigid, giving it a certain stiffness during rallies. However, this rigidity provides extra control on slightly slower shots.

As for the foam, it is made of Hard Eva. Hard core providing power and control. Experienced players with good technical mastery will make the most of a rigid core.

The Slazenger Epic series racket is therefore focused on control with its round shape, but also offers very good power. Finally, in addition to its technologies, the Epic series features a stunning design that will captivate padel fashion lovers.

Finally, let's finish off the racket ranges in style with the Series ICON.
This teardrop-shaped racket has a look quite similar to the Series EPIC.

This completely black racket is versatile due to both its shape and its technologies. One major difference: the shape. Its diamond shape gives it greater power as well as slightly less manoeuvrability than its cousin, the EPIC.

The racket frame is made of 12k carbon fibre. This is a cutting-edge technique that involves weaving 12,000 carbon filaments into a single thread. This technique provides the racket with control and explosiveness through increased rigidity.

The core in Hard Eva is hard. This rigidity provides it with the power needed for any player looking for heavy hits.

Its rough surface shaped like black panthers provides increased comfort and precision.

The racket also comes with a frame protector tape. This features the Slazenger colours. The aim of this tape is to protect the padel racket as much as possible, in order to limit marks on the frame caused by impacts.
