Who is Alejandro Galán? 

Alejandro Galán Romo - better known in the padel world by the nickname Ale Galán - was born on 15 May 1996 in Madrid. He is a professional player who currently holds 5th place in the World Padel Tour rankings.

His playing style is defined by his aggression and power. He is particularly comfortable near the net and on the backhand.

The early days of Alejandro Galán's career

The player often says it: he has had his own padel racket in his hand practically his whole life. His passion for padel began at a very young age. However, it was not until the age of 7 that he started taking lessons, which led him to compete in tournaments on the Circuito de Menores, one of the biggest youth circuits in Spain.

The player has always said that he came from a very modest family and that it was difficult for him to reach where he is today. At first, he was only able to discover padel by training once a week, which nevertheless allowed him to compete in the U12 category, where he achieved very good results and continued to climb the ranks of Spanish padel.

He then received a grant which allowed him to train more regularly and therefore improve. This led him to become one of the best in his country's junior category.

Although he started very young, it was not until 2016, at the age of 20, that he began to stand out in the professional categories.

Alejandro Galán's career as a professional

Alejandro Galán's career on the World Padel Tour indeed began in 2016 partnering with Juan Cruz Belluati, with whom he quickly achieved good results. Despite excellent results in 2017, Ale joined Matías Diaz for the 2018 season.

With Diaz, they regularly reached the final stages of tournaments at the start of the season, notably the Valladolid Open final, where they beat Sánchez and Gutiérrez, thus giving Galán his first title on the World Padel Tour. Five tournaments later, at the Lugo Open, they repeated their feat by defeating Luciano Capra and Ramiro Moyano.

In 2019, Galán began the season with Juani Mieres, with whom he won the Buenos Aires Padel Masters in Argentina, before changing partner again to play alongside Pablo Lima, with whom he won the title in Valencia.

From 2020, Juan Lebrón Chincoa became his partner and the duo enjoyed immense success, winning numerous titles and becoming the world number one pair. Their partnership was crowned with success and their performance on the World Padel Tour took them to the top of the sport, leaving an indelible mark on the history of professional padel.

Alejandro Galán's major successes

Alejandro Galán's journey towards the world number one spot began with his current partner, Juan Lebron, whom he had known since his early days in padel. Their first year together, 2020, was crowned with success with 8 finals played and 6 victories: exceptional results.

The following year, the duo maintained their high level by winning 7 titles once again, including the Cascais Padel Master 2021 where they beat Fede Chingotto and Juan Tello, as well as the Estrella Damm Master Final 2021 against Agustín Tapia and Carlos Gutiérrez, totalling 31,400 points.
