A brand new event in Tarragona!
For the first time in 2025, Premier Padel brings a tournament to Catalonia outside the traditional season-ending events in Barcelona: the Tarragona Premier Padel P1 will be held from 27 July to 3 August 2025 at the Palau d’Esports Catalunya, also known as the Palacio de Deportes Juegos Mediterráneos. Originally scheduled for Barcelona, the tournament was relocated to Tarragona for this edition, marking a new milestone in the tour's expansion.
Key information: dates, venue, prize money
The tournament takes place over a week, with the qualifying rounds on 27 and 28 July and the main draw from 28 July to 3 August. It is a P1 category event, awarding 1,000 FIP points to the winners. The prize money stands at around €474,500, according to data available on the Premier Padel website.
The Palau d'Esports Catalunya is a modern indoor arena with a capacity exceeding 5,000 spectators, used during the 2018 Mediterranean Games. Its infrastructure and logistics make it a prime venue for professional padel.
Competition format
The qualifiers will be played over two days, with 32 men's teams (including 30 direct ranking entries and 2 wildcards) and 16 women's teams (15 via ranking, 1 wildcard). The main draw brings together 48 men's pairs (37 direct entries, 8 qualifiers, 3 wildcards) and 28 women's pairs (23 direct entries, 4 qualifiers, 1 wildcard).
The daily schedule is organised as follows:
- Qualifiers: 27–28 July, starting from 8:30 am on Sunday.
- Tournoi final: begins on 28 July with the men's first round, followed by the women on 29 and 30 July.
- The knockout stages (round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals) run from 31 July to 2 August, with the finals scheduled for 3 August in the late afternoon, around 5 pm.
Access, ticketing and broadcasting
The tournament's official website states that ticketing has launched via the Premier Padel Catalunya website, with over 3,000 tickets already sold shortly after sales opened. Exact pricing details have not yet been fully published, but a range of options can be expected (day passes, weekly packages).
TV and streaming broadcasts will be available on Movistar in Spain for television, while Red Bull TV and the Premier Padel YouTube Channel will provide international coverage, typically with commentary in English and Spanish.
