The features of Babolat Vertuo padel rackets
If you had to name a brand specialising in racket sports, there is a good chance that Babolat would be the first one you mention—and, proudly, it is French! Based in Lyon, the company is a leader in most racket sports, including padel. However, finding a racket that matches your level/style of play can sometimes be difficult. To simplify things, Babolat has launched 3 different ranges, corresponding to 3 playing levels as well as 3 models corresponding to different playing styles. 9 rackets to cover almost all padel players: that is Babolat's approach, and it works rather well.
Here, we will look at the Babolat Vertuo, accessible and forgiving rackets, which are nevertheless divided into 3 different models, like their big sisters, the Veron and Viper.
How do you choose your Babolat Vertuo padel racket?
First, you need to know your level and the style of play you prefer. This will determine which padel racket is best suited to you. Vertuo rackets are recommended for beginners and intermediate players because their faces are made of fibreglass, a fairly flexible and forgiving material that helps reduce those frustrating unforced errors when you’re starting out.
If you favour an aggressive style, the Technical Vertuo is your best option. Its diamond shape puts more weight at the racket head, giving you plenty of momentum for smashes and powerful shots. Even so, this racket remains comfortable thanks to the fibreglass covering its faces, which provides excellent ball control while enlarging the sweet spot and making the racket quite forgiving.
Conversely, if you prefer defence, lobs and ball control, then the Counter Vertuo is made for you. With its round shape, which creates a low balance, the racket will be ultra manoeuvrable and very comfortable. Ideal for beginners looking for a fairly accessible racket that will minimise mistakes as much as possible.
Between the two is the third model, the Air Vertuo. A teardrop model, this pala is the most versatile, with its balance centred in the middle of the racket. Same fibreglass, same foam, but the distinctive feature of all Air models, whatever the range, is their weight. Indeed, the Vertuo weighs around 350g, while the other rackets weigh between 355 and 360 grams. Ideal for preventing tendinitis, the Air Vertuo is also recommended for teenagers or women who want to start playing padel thanks to its reduced weight.
Are Babolat Vertuo rackets suitable for all players?
As mentioned above, thanks to their fibreglass construction, Babolat Vertuo rackets are often recommended for beginners and even intermediate players. For more advanced players, Babolat offers two more premium ranges, the Viper and Veron, each with 3 models. It is up to you to choose the pala best suited to your style and level.
The Babolat range is not limited to rackets!
But the French brand does not stop there. Alongside the other rackets, including the Veron and Viper, there are also many other products to complete your Babolat padel kit. For example, Babolat padel bags are ideal for storing and protecting your belongings, while accessories will complete your gear so you can make the most of your padel experience. Dress like your favourite players with Babolat clothing and shoes, and become the king of the court!
