Are you starting to play padel regularly? Thinking about starting a professional career? And you're convinced you can take down Pascal, your trailblazing friend who introduced you to padel! Then you've come to the right place, because the first step is to get yourself equipped with your first padel racket!
Good luck… because in padel, there are hundreds of brands and thousands of different rackets. That’s why we created this blog: to help you choose your padel equipment. For example, after reading the article on different racket shapes, you’ll probably have a clearer idea of the features you want in your next racket.
If you’re not convinced and think you can progress and reach for the stars with a rental racket, you’ll see that this great ambition will be hard to achieve. Make no mistake, having your own racket can bring you several undeniable advantages!
1. No more excuses like "they lent me a rubbish racket, that's why I lost!"
Oh yes.. We all have that mate who, after taking a proper beating, comes up with the best excuses in the world.
Most often, it's the racket's fault, because as we all know, it's the racket that makes the player!! Too light, too soft, too small or too big, it is always this poor padel racket that takes the blame first.
But if it isn’t the racket, it’s the wind (even indoors!) that bothered him on two or three important smashes, or the sun playing tricks on him because, of course, it moves every time they change ends 😂
So to prevent you from ending up as angry as the player above, we advise you to have your own weapon of choice.
2. Get the same feel in every match

It’s often a problem when you don’t have your own gear, you play with different padel rackets in every match. And that's where the problems begin, because from one game to the next, you can end up playing with two completely different rackets or with the same rackets but with a different level of wear and tear. All this creates very different playing sensations.
Because of these changes, you may spend several dozen minutes of each match getting used to a different racket. And 30 minutes in a 90-minute match is a long time!
3. Have a racket with better performance than rental rackets

In general, the price of rackets ranges between €50 and €300. As in all sports, to get quality equipment, you have to pay the price. Padel is no exception.
But if you’re new to padel and don’t want to spend €300 on a racket (which is perfectly understandable), there are plenty of affordable rackets to choose from. You can absolutely start with a racket under €100 and still enjoy a great feel. For a few euros more, you’ll find excellent versatile, comfortable rackets that are easy to play with, such as the Bullpadel Wing, the Head Flash Pro or the Wilson Blade Elite. In short, for between €80 and €150, you can find excellent padel rackets to kick off your career as a champion 😉
4. Look like a professional thanks to your new padel equipment!
Let's face it, having a racket and pro gear doesn't send the same message as a player discovering a new racket at every match! So if you want to impress your opponents, look no further!
And for the most stylish among you, you'll have the luxury of matching your outfit with the colour of your new weapon! Nice, isn't it?
5. Stop paying to hire rackets and make your investment pay off
As you know, every time you play, you spend on average €2 to €5 to rent a racket. Based on that observation, wouldn’t it be better to invest in a racket?
Let’s take the following example: How long does it take to get a return on a padel racket bought for €100?

At €3 per racket rental, and one padel match a week, your purchase will have paid for itself in 34 sessions, meaning in much less than a year! And with all the advantages seen above, we'll let you choose your side…
And of course, we’ll help you choose with a selection of rackets carefully hand-picked by our team of experts.
