A season finale at the pinnacle of world padel

The sport of padel, booming worldwide, now has its major end-of-year event: the Premier Padel Finals. This season-closing tournament brings together the best men's and women's pairs on the planet for top-level sporting entertainment.

Organised after a year of intense competition, this tournament crowns the kings and queens of padel after a final showdown between champions.

An exceptional season on the Premier Padel circuit

The 2024 season of the Premier Padel calendar was historic: according to the FIP report, more than 350 tournaments were played in 36 countries up to April 2024. These figures demonstrate the rapid expansion of padel around the world. The Premier Padel Finals thus bring this rich season to a close.

Only the top 16 male and female players in the FIP Race rankings are invited, namely the top 8 men's and women's pairs. These players, from all corners of the globe, have accumulated points throughout the season in a variety of tournaments ranging from P1 to Major.

A format designed for champions

Over four days, the teams play quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. For the first time, a match for 3rd place has been added. All matches follow the rules of padel tournaments: best of three sets, tie-break at 6-6, and a deciding point at 40-40.

The atmosphere is electric, with entertainment in the stands, light shows and spectacular staging from the players' entrance onwards.

Major sporting stakes

With €600,000 in prize money and 1,500 FIP points at stake, the pressure is at its peak. Good padel mental preparation becomes as crucial as physical fitness. The organisation, managed by the FIP, is meticulously planned, far from the setting of a simple amateur padel tournament.

Technical teams, physiotherapists and personal coaches support the players at every stage. An entire ecosystem converges towards excellence.

This edition also stood out for the introduction of the new Premier Supercourt® X3 synthetic turf, enhancing the quality of play and television visibility.

Barcelona 2024: a spectacle at Palau Sant Jordi

A final on Catalan soil

From 19 to 22 December, the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona hosted the elite of world padel. The Spanish public turned out in force, particularly after the success of Premier Padel Paris at Roland-Garros and Premier Padel Bordeaux earlier in the year. Catalonia, the historic stronghold of European padel, provided an exceptional setting for this event.

Men's side: the Nieto/Sanz surprise

Coello and Tapia, unbeaten in 47 matches, were beaten in the final by Jorge Nieto and Jon Sanz: 3-6, 7-5, 6-3. Already winners of the padel tournament P2 Bordeaux, they achieved the feat of the year. After saving two match points, Nieto and Sanz completely turned the momentum of the match around. Lebrón and Di Nenno, eliminated in the semi-final, secured 3rd place in the third-place play-off.

Women's side: Josemaría and Sánchez at the top

In the women's competition, Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez dominated Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernández in the final (6-3, 6-3). With 10 titles in 2024, they consolidated their position as world No. 1s. Brea and Virseda completed the podium after a season marked by their consistency.

Atmosphere and coverage: a global event

A complete experience for fans

The best players shone with their padel racket and their customised padel clothing, technical padel shoes on their feet and matching padel bags. On court and in the stands, the energy was infectious. The public was able to meet the players, attend autograph sessions and visit the official shops.

Comprehensive media coverage

In France, Canal+ provided coverage, supplemented internationally by YouTube and Red Bull TV. The Premier Padel Finals are establishing themselves as an unmissable event for padel fans. A mobile app made it possible to follow live scores and easily access the Premier Padel calendar.

Looking ahead to 2025: a promising new season

An expanded calendar

The 2025 season promises to be busier than ever with the return of the Premier Padel Finals to Barcelona, from 8 to 14 December. It will begin in February in Riyadh and include key stops listed in the 2025 padel tournament calendar. Thousands of amateur and professional players are already preparing, with their padel licence in hand.

Competitions for all levels
