Having a suitable racket is important
Expert players are often defined as players at level 8 or above. For more information on the padel levels introduced by some French clubs, check the relevant blog article. For players of this level, and despite the high price of some palas, it is essential for expert players to play with a racket featuring advanced technologies and details that matter. See the purchase as an investment that will allow you to reveal your full potential.

How do you choose your racket at expert level?
At expert level, players have a great deal of experience and know padel and their game inside out. It is therefore necessary to be precise about the details of rackets, as every element counts when choosing a pala.
Shape: always based on playing style.
It cannot be repeated often enough, but choosing a racket depends on players' preferences on court. At expert level, each player has a very specific playing style that must be analysed to choose the most suitable racket. If you prefer to attack (typically a left-side player), finish points with powerful smashes or par 3s, then rackets in a diamond shape are made for you thanks to the weight positioned in the racket head. Check out our article on the best powerful rackets to see the top models.
However, if your style is more defensive (a right-side player) and you prefer placing your balls rather than hitting them hard, then the round shape is more suited to you, with the racket balance closer to the handle to avoid making mistakes. The teardrop shape is more balanced and allows you to be more versatile. It is therefore up to you to choose according to your behaviour on court!
The faces: what other than carbon?
At this level of play, virtually no manufacturer offers rackets made of fibreglass. Players have enough experience and knowledge of their game to master carbon rackets and can afford to play with this demanding yet devastating material. A few rackets are still made from a carbon and fibreglass blend and are focused as much as possible on control. Carbon density also comes into play. Micro carbon filaments are arranged in the faces, and their density varies to produce a different feel. 3k carbon, for example, is softer and more forgiving than the 18k carbon found in some rackets. The corresponding product sheets explain all this in detail for each racket.
Foam: firm or soft?
As with the previous categories, there are 2 main types of foam, which also depend on your style. Soft foams make ball impact softer and more comfortable, which slows down the balls and adds control to your shots. With Hard foams, it is the opposite. They are stiffer and give your shots a power boost. Manufacturers do not hesitate to mix the different elements of the racket (soft foam, diamond shape and 3k carbon, for example) to create versatile, all-round rackets.
