What are the characteristics of Head Extreme padel rackets?

In 2023, Head made major changes to its ranges and how it organised its padel rackets. With new identities for its two premium ranges, a new era for the Austrian company began, led by the Extreme and Speed collections. Gone is the orange of the Delta range; in come the green and black of the Extreme range. The model names remain the same, but a few changes take Head into another dimension.

Beginners might consider the Extreme Elite, the direct successor to the Delta Elite. Its features are similar, with a diamond shape that adds power to overhead shots such as smashes and viboras. The Power FOAM foam enhances its explosive feel, giving you the power you need. Despite these attacking features, the racket still needs to be accessible to beginners, its primary audience. That’s why the faces are made of graphene, a hybrid material combining fibreglass and carbon fibre. Present in small amounts in the racket, the carbon adds a slight touch of stiffness to balance the flexibility and forgiveness of the fibreglass.

For intermediate players, the Extreme Motion is available. The characteristics are almost the same. The diamond shape and fairly firm foam are still there and provide definite power. However, graphene is still present but with a higher carbon content. This increases energy return and responsiveness. Be careful though, playing comfort decreases.

Finally, for advanced players, Head has created the Extreme Pro. Like its 2 little sisters, the model features a diamond shape and firm Power FOAM; the racket also differs in its graphene composition, with more carbon in the graphene to reinforce its powerful and explosive character. The racket is therefore reserved for players with some padel experience, as it is quite difficult to play with. However, it can be devastating when mastered well.

The latest addition to the family is the famous Extreme One. A unique padel racket with faces featuring one single hole, this innovation has caused quite a stir in the world of padel. Technically, the racket can also be considered a powerful racket thanks to its hybrid frame combining pure carbon and graphene. However, it is more comfortable than the Extreme Pro and offers more control. It still belongs in the category of rackets for experienced players.

Head Extreme padel rackets: what are the advantages?

With its 4 powerful models, it is clear that Head leaves no player behind: all playing levels are entitled to their suitable racket. Another advantage is that the rackets are built with Auxetic technology, a new feature from Head. This innovation makes the racket more resistant and provides remarkable energy return. Thanks to this, power is once again highlighted, all without losing too much ball control. Ideal for making the padel racket highly versatile.

Head padel rackets are also known for offering some of the best value for money on the market, both in the Extreme range and across the other ranges. That goes for rackets as well as other products, such as padel bags, shoes and even Head padel clothing. Head padel balls are also considered among the most popular thanks to their versatility. Depending on the pressurisation you prefer, three models are available to suit everyone: Head Team, Head Pro and Head Pro S. Are Head Extreme padel rackets suitable for all players?

As mentioned above, the 4 Head Extreme rackets are designed for players of all levels who can play with this range. However, be aware that they are still rackets designed for attacking play and are quite powerful. As a result, ball control and playing comfort are not optimal and do not suit all players. For more manoeuvrable and comfortable rackets, Head's other flagship range, the Speed, will be more suitable.
