What are the unique features of Babolat Viper padel rackets?

Let’s now take a closer look at Babolat rackets, and more specifically at one of its lines: the Viper. Among the various types of rackets offered by Babolat, the Viper is undoubtedly the top-of-the-line series, designed for the most experienced players. Like all other Babolat lines, the Viper is available in three different models: the Air, the Counter, and the Technical. With different features and shapes, this variety ensures that every player can find a racket suited to their playing style. 

Unlike the Veron and Vertuo lines, the Viper is Babolat’s premium line. All three models feature full-carbon frames and are ideal for experienced players at level 7 and above. While carbon can be somewhat challenging to handle at first, it is available in different densities depending on the model. For example, in the Air Viper, the carbon density can reach up to 16k (16,000 carbon monofilaments), which is quite stiff and requires considerable skill to control. On the other hand, the Counter Viper features only 3k carbon, which is much less stiff and far more forgiving. 

Are Babolat Viper padel rackets suitable for players of all skill levels? 

There are many padel rackets on the market, and it can sometimes be difficult to navigate the options and find a racket that suits your needs. When it comes to the Viper series, the picture is pretty straightforward: these are premium-tier rackets that are quite demanding and somewhat difficult to handle. However, once you’ve mastered them, your full potential will truly shine! For lower skill levels, we’d recommend more accessible rackets like the Vertuo, for example—staying with Babolat. However, as explained above, the Counter Viper is less stiff and more controllable due to its round shape and could very well suit intermediate players, for example. Are Babolat Viper rackets the right choice for women or children?

As mentioned earlier, the Viper models are quite difficult to master. For children, they’re out of the question—Babolat makes excellent specialized rackets like the Viper Junior, which are appropriately sized and weighted. For women, they aren’t necessarily the first choice, but they’re a viable option. You’ll need to be fairly experienced to handle the carbon density of the Viper. However, the Air Viper remains a fairly lightweight racket (between 355 and 365g) and might well suit female players.
