What are the features of Head Radical padel rackets?
In 2023, the Austrian brand Head, already well established in padel, decided to revamp its padel racket ranges by changing the names, colours and some features of existing models. The manufacturer also decided to add an entirely new range to broaden its offering even further. Welcome, then, to the Radical range , with its pink and blue colours and even greater versatility.
As with the other ranges and right from the start, the Radical line is composed of 3 distinct rackets, for each player level. The idea is to have the same type of racket available but in a more advanced version so you can upgrade easily, without feeling too disoriented. The first in the family, the Radical Elite, is made of graphene, an alloy of fibreglass and carbon fibre that brings stiffness to the racket without compromising ball control and playing comfort. Fairly versatile thanks to its teardrop shape, it features a Control Foam that softens the racket and makes it more versatile. Designed for beginners and intermediate players, this racket allows you to start padel with total peace of mind, and even improve, as it will support you well along your development.
The 2nd racket in the range is the Radical Motion, a mid-range racket that offers slightly more advanced features. With the Control foam still featured and the teardrop shape always so dear to Head, a layer of 3k carbon is added on top of the graphene layer to provide greater overall stiffness. A bit more demanding to master, this racket is slightly less accessible but allows you to generate more power than the Elite.
Finally, the Radical Pro, the most advanced racket in the range, allows you to add even more punch to your game. Like all Head Pro padel rackets, it is more powerful than its smaller siblings. The graphene layer has therefore been removed, making way for 3k carbon as the sole material for the faces. Nevertheless, the racket retains its control attributes, the foam remains a Comfort FOAM and the shape remains teardrop. We can therefore say that these versatile rackets are more control-oriented.
How to choose your Head Radical padel racket?
Whenever you change rackets, you need to consider many factors to choose a Head padel racket suited to your style and level of play. The same goes for the Radical range. If you are a beginner just starting padel, the Radical Elite is the best fit. If you already have a few matches under your belt, the Radical Motion and Radical Pro should suit you. Bear in mind, though, that these rackets are aimed more at players who value control and forgiveness than raw power.
Are Head Radical rackets suitable for all players?
What makes Head rackets interesting is that the 3 versions appeal to a wide range of players. Beginners, experienced players and even experts can find a racket that suits their playing style in this range. That said, they will not suit every padel player. Left-side players, or those who rely heavily on explosive power, should look at other, more powerful ranges.
The Head range is not limited to rackets
Head is known for offering one of the widest ranges of products, from rackets to the rest of a padel player’s kit. The Austrian brand offers Head padel clothing as well as Head padel bags to protect your rackets, essential for keeping them in good condition for as long as possible. To complete the collection, try the Head padel shoes , which are among the best on the circuit. Get all these products at the best prices at Esprit Padel Shop!
