Pro Kennex's main quality is playing comfort, notably thanks to a special feature: the Kinetic System. This technology helps to significantly reduce vibrations with every racket shot and thus limit the risk of injury, particularly to the elbow. Several areas of the padel racket are made up of small beads that absorb impacts and reduce the risk of tennis elbow, for example. How do you choose your Pro Kennex racket?

The shape: power, control… or both?

The diamond shape is specially designed for players looking to maximise their power and aggression on court. In this design, the racket's weight is balanced towards the head, increasing the effectiveness of overhead shots such as smashes, bandejas and viboras. However, this weight distribution away from your hand can compromise control and manoeuvrability, especially on low shots below the waist.

Unlike the diamond shape, the round shape promotes ball control and defensive ability. In this case, the weight is distributed towards the handle, which improves manoeuvrability and ball control. This configuration is particularly useful for reducing errors; however, it can somewhat sacrifice explosiveness and power when it comes to finishing points with force. 

Finally, the last option is the teardrop shape. Rackets of this shape offer a balance between control and power, with weight centred in the middle of the face. They are perfect for players looking to maximise their versatility on court. However, it is important to note that they have no specific strength in play!

The faces: rigidity or flexibility?

The faces of padel rackets play a crucial role in their performance, as they determine their rigidity. 

Fibreglass, renowned for its flexibility, is often favoured for its forgiveness, making it a popular choice among beginners due to its ease of use. It promotes better ball control, thereby limiting the frustrating errors typical of beginners. However, it is worth noting its limitations in terms of power and flexibility, which can become restrictive as your level improves.

Conversely, carbon faces are more rigid and are generally reserved for intermediate or advanced players, requiring a certain amount of experience in playing padel to be mastered. Carbon density varies depending on the model, ranging from 3k (less dense, more forgiving) to 18k (very dense, offering great power).

Foam: Soft or Hard?

The foam, positioned between the two faces of the racket, plays an essential role in the feel and behaviour of the balls at the moment of impact and when they leave the racket. Its flexibility varies depending on the model.

The different foams follow the same logic as the faces: the denser and harder the foam, the more responsive the racket will be and the better its feedback on shots. Conversely, a softer foam offers greater comfort and control on shots. However, it is worth noting the risk of injury associated with using hard foam with rigid faces.
