A questionnaire to help you find your way! 

After you loved El Comparator, our teams put their heads together again to come up with another way to help you choose your dream racket, suited to your level and playing style. We wanted to build on El Comparator’s benefits with a way to shortlist rackets based on your needs, making an initial selection from the more than 500 padel racket models on our site. 

That’s how El Selector was born: a short questionnaire about your playing level, habits and preferences that lets us select 5 to 25 rackets that could meet your criteria. The idea was to help all players, especially beginners, who can easily feel overwhelmed by the huge number of options. Once you’ve looked through all the shortlisted rackets, you can use El Comparator to narrow down your choice and find THE racket that suits you best 

Why is it important to have the right racket? 

In padel, the racket is the most important piece of equipment, so having one that suits you is essential. First, it needs to suit your playing level. Rackets designed for experienced players are often stiffer, less manoeuvrable and generally harder to play with. In the hands of beginners, they are often too demanding and can even cause injuries if used incorrectly. Conversely, experienced players will immediately notice if they use beginner rackets, and they won’t be able to realise their full potential. 

Your playing style matters too. If a more defensive player uses a diamond-shaped racket, for example, they will have less manoeuvrability and ball control, two essentials for their game. Conversely, if an attacking player uses a round racket, they may find they have less power in their shots, which could make them overexert themselves or even get injured. That’s why it’s so important to have a racket suited to your abilities and playing style.
