Swedish padel brand 4on is unveiling its brand-new range of grip products today. With a cream and a spray, the brand offers a helpful alternative to chalk for players whose hands sweat during padel matches. We’ve tested them for you, and here’s what we thought of these practical and innovative products.
With the cream, a small dab is enough to give you a noticeably better grip on the racket. It feels tacky without being too unpleasant to the touch, and the cream will quickly put your sweaty-hand problems behind you. The only drawback is how long it lasts. After around 45 minutes, the effect is no longer as strong as it was at first and, as with chalk, you’ll need to reapply it during a break or change of ends to maintain the same grip throughout the match.

As for the spray, you can apply it directly to your hands or the racket handle. It provides plenty of grip, giving you a secure hold on the racket so it no longer slips out of your hand. Unlike the cream, the spray lasts longer, and you won’t need to reapply it during the match unless you sweat heavily. However, its feel is quite unusual, rather like glue, and may not appeal to everyone. We didn’t mind the very tacky feel, and it washed off fairly easily with hot water.

If sweaty hands are a problem for you, 4on products are a good alternative to chalk in both summer and winter. Whether you choose the cream or the spray, both offer grip to help you play your best without worrying about your hands slipping. The products are available on our Esprit Padel Shop website, and you can also try them at the club.
